How to Apply

Stage One: Application

Please consider the following points when planning your visit:

 

- Your aims and objectives, including specific skills, knowledge, and experience you wish to gain.

- The questions you would like to have answered.

- Your developmental needs.

- The ideal timing and duration of your visit.

- The type of institution you would like to visit, including its specialisms and location.

- How do you plan to apply your learning and experience to your current role?

Please follow guidance from your institution on how to apply, and contact your designated coordinator for more information.

Working Remotely

Stage Two: Matching

Before the meeting, please complete the Programme Outline form with the person you are shadowing.

  • Deciding on how to meet your objectives for the visit

  • Agreeing on confidentiality

  • Deciding on the visit's length dates

  • Agreeing on programme content and boundaries (i.e. which work can be observed, what documents and information can be shared)

Stage Three: Post-Visit

After the work shadowing visit has taken place, you should send the completed Outside Insight Programme Outline to the Designated Co-ordinator in the host institution and complete an online evaluation form.
